Soul Injury Veterans Retreat

Soul Injury Veterans Retreat

How Did the Retreat Go?

– Great location, food was excellent, loved the various alternative therapies (reiki, reflexology, etc.)

– Thank you all so much for making this retreat possible.

– I loved the presenter- she is so knowledgeable and has been extremely helpful. I had a busy week so the 1st session Friday was late. I felt in a daze. I could see however that it touched people. The topic is so relevant.

– I found Ritch Ryan to be my favorite part. I learned how to control my breathing in a new way. I liked how there was an opportunity to go to AA @ night. I liked networking with other people.

– So grateful for the opportunity to be around other Veterans learning new techniques to help process some difficult emotions and hopefully learn to live with them better.  The retreat facility was beautiful and had great trails to walk on and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather. The food was fantastic and the PNH staff is so loving and helpful. The holistic practitioners and the workshops are amazing! Thanks for all you do!!!

Soul Injury is Defined as:

1. An overlooked, unassessed wound that separates us from our own sense of self.
2. An aching wound perpetuated by unmourned loss, unforgiven guilt/shame, and diminished self-compassion that is often manifested as a sense of emptiness, loss of meaning, or a sense that a part of self is missing or in exile.
3. A long-lasting response to a person or situation that causes one to feel personally defective, inadequate, or unworthy.

Three powerful workshops will embolden us to connect with our own Soul Injury: Re-Own, Re-Home, and then Re-Vitalize those scattered, once disowned pieces of ourselves.

A $50 fee will be required at registration, and will be fully refunded at the completion of the retreat. Our retreats are 100% drug and alcohol free. All lodging, meals and activities are provided to Veterans free of charge. Transportation to or from retreat not included.

Retreat registration closes two weeks prior to the start date.

Proof of Military Service (no exceptions). Military ID, DD-214, VA Health Care Card or Driver’s License with “Veteran” on license will be required before attending retreat.

PTSD Veterans Retreat

PTSD Veterans Retreat

How Did the Retreat Go?

Donna, Bill, and facilitators, I can’t even imagine a retreat more ideal than this one! The healing I received was so unexpected! Along with the healing, I learned a lot about myself and my need for other people. Thank you for connecting me to humanity again.

Gratefully, Cheryl R.
P.S I love you Brady!

On the form when I got there, I said I was somewhat stressed. I was excited to become not stressed. I loved the whole experience and people and I looked forward to each day. Plus, I had an awesome roommate!

Erin Q.

The camp was beautiful, facilities were nice, classes were interesting, fun, and full of helpful information. Fellow Vets were polite and caring. Loved working with horses! Thank you!

Devin H.

Great environment to relax and learn new ways to deal with PTSD issues. I really enjoyed the activities as well as meeting other Vets. I will absolutely recommend Project New Hope to other Vets!

Michael B.

I want to say the staff and location was tremendous! I have learned to work on communications with my significant other. I would suggest this program to any Veteran in need of guidance. Great job, thank you very much for doing what you do. Have a great year.

Escape the darkness of PTSD and other life struggles with clear goals and a solid plan. This Ladder UPP retreat will help you figure out where you are going and how to use your traumas and trials as fuel to live.

You will learn tools for recovery, PTSD and depression, or just a difficult trial or transition in life. Join us on this retreat and take a step toward living free. “The Ladder UPP” is a data-driven program and has been proven effective and might just be the step up you need.

This was a great opportunity to calm things down and try to work through issues we all have. It’s hard to take time in my daily routine. Project New Hope was a great experience. The people were loving and friendly. The setting was relaxed and uplifting. Knowledgeable with PTSD, depression, and sexual abuse. The facility was awesome, and the food was also excellent. I would recommend and will recommend this retreat to all Veterans. I look forward to more Project New Hope events. I have made some great friends. I tend to isolate myself from people. This wasn’t an issue. I felt like I was accepted as family. What an awesome experience I had this weekend. I am so grateful for being here. Thank you! -WM

This retreat was a transformative experience for me. Learning from other Veterans about their trauma gives me a heightened awareness of other concerns I can bring to my work. Thank you. -MH

“I had an amazing time & would love to come back for another retreat ASAP”

“Thanks to all the staff: It was a great weekend. Relaxation was the key component to my stay. Even more important than the bonus no cost stay weekend is finished (sadly) and we head back to Boston with fond memories and new friendships. Staff was supportive and fun to be around. Special shout out to Capt. Dan for the fun time (and sunburn) for the hours on his boat. And Donna for her conversation, smile and humor. (Thanks Donna!) Can’t forget ‘Gonzo’ for his struggle to keep ‘the guys’ in line.”

“During my time here, I have built a lifetime of memories within my three days, I have learned valuable traits to retain my positive energy and keep it rolling. Thank you for the great memories in a 3-day vacation.”

“Was an excellent experience. Will attend more in the future.”

“It was a fun, relax and interesting weekend. Thank you to all the organizers whom made this an interesting/educational event.”

“The speaker Joy was amazing. She doesn’t get enough credit for her role as a female aviator. Bill and Donna were amazing hosts. Their care of the soldiers was excellent in all they do.”

“I commend you for the work that you do for our vets. They need a lot of help and our government is dropping the ball taking care of our wounded warriors”

“The host and hostess are wonderful people. So is the staff. I had a great time. I pray that I will be alive to attend next year.”

“I’m most appreciative for the event and the presentations. I think a common cold came to fruition making me come up short on what was probably the best of times- mixing with the others”

“If it wasn’t for the retreat, I would have been alone watching too much tv this weekend. Instead, I was outside learning from a great group of Veterans. Thanks Project New Hope!!”

“Being part of this retreats open my eyes of Project New Hope. They are very caring towards the Veterans in the area, when you have Veterans coming to the retreats Las Vegas and Texas that shows how great they are. Thank you for inviting me and I’ll be here for the next one.”

“I totally enjoyed this retreat, and being my first one, hope to go on another. The personnel of PNH were engaging and made learning new coping skills easy and fun. Thanks for a great weekend, I feel relaxed and energized and in a much better space then when I got here.”

“Project New Hope is an amazing organization that we are proud to work with and support. Bill, Donna, and staff are truly fantastic people that care deeply for Veterans and their families. We look forward to coming back to many more retreats.”

“Project New Hope is an incredible organization that goes out of their way to inspire, motivate, and care for Veterans and their families. Bill, Donna, Ann, and their entire staff serve so many people and dedicate hours and hours of their time to unselfishly help Veterans. The weekend retreats offer so many opportunities for Veterans to heal, recharge, and return home with tools to help them at home and in their communities.”
